This event was recorded with a Sony NEX-FS700EK. It can capture 1080p video in a burst of up to 16 seconds at 120fps, or 8 seconds at 240fps. It then takes twice as long as the burst to compress and write that video to its SDHC card, and whist it's doing that you can't do anything else, except abort the process part-way through and just keep what it's done so far. This just about makes it possible to film a Head Race (alas not the Bumps) at 120fps, even if some clips are a bit short, as the gaps between crews are just about long enough to compress the burst video. At 240fps, there's just not enough time.

So I recorded some 240fps footage of crews rowing down to the start. The camera does well! Try hireacamera.com if you want one.
